Cryovials / Plastic / Plates | Glass Labware | Laser Barcode Marker

plastic_labware_products TWD’s Laser Etched ID’s can be applied to plastic labware containing an ink patch. The process entails using a CO2 laser to remove a portion of the ink patch. In this manner almost any type of permanent marking can be applied to the plastic labware. This type of labeling is fully compatible for low temperature storage, water/sonication, centrifugation, autoclaving, etc. and is especially suitable for small labware, such as minitubes and cryovials.

As an example, most cryovials come with a white ink writing patch that can be conveniently labeled by laser etching to create barcodes and text. For white patches on clear plastic vials, the barcode appearance shows very little color contrast; this has, however, very little effect on scanner readability. Also, the readability is not affected by the color of the contents inside the vials. When using a stationary scanner on an automated system a simple adjustment on reading angles and reading distance can quickly optimize the scanner decoding speed.
